This piece was created using a steak knife and a safety pin, it was "dubbed" the Alpha Unicorn by a close friend and art teacher who really wasnt sure about sculpting unicorns, Thanks to Chris Hood.

Daily DeviationAlpha Unicorn Detail by *jshapeshifter is both beautiful and graceful, from the details of the fur and flowing hair to the penetrative gaze, it makes it hard to believe this was created solely with the use of a steak knife and safety pin. (Featured by ^Thebuild)

An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind.
The detailing is amazing. The hair is very unusual but I like it. It gives it a more powerful feel than most unicorns.

Spay and neuter your pets, I already have too much work!
Thank you, I have a friend that is an art teacher and when I told her I was going to do a unicorn, she wasnt very thrilled. But when she saw this she "dubbed " it the Alpha Unicorn........thanks again for he comment, I really appreciate it....j
His hair is amazing.

How did you do the little spines around his cheek? They are soo little and sharp it's amazing. Did you shape them, bake them seperately and then push them in later?
VERY VERY CAREFULLY WITH A HEAT GUN........J
I've heard of people using heat guns to harden parts of super sculpey work without putting it into the oven. I haven't tried one before. Is there any websites/books about sculpting techniques with a heat gun?
I dont know of any books, I just thought of it a couple years ago and practiced and practiced and still to this day , I practice.... have fun, and I'll help as much as I can....j
